Dear friends of FOSTER,
Here we are almost one third of the way through the year and well into autumn…with the few thunderstorms we’ve had recently, the reserves are blooming like it is spring!
I don’t remember the Brunsvigias ever being this prolific!
So many people have asked for a reminder when FOSTER subs are due…sorry a bit late but…
ALL subs were due in January 2018… unless you paid in advance at the end of 2017
Membership fees…R200 per person or R300 per family.
Plus…all donations over R300 are tax deductible!!
Attached here is a list of members paid up for 2018.
As always, if your name isn’t there and you think it should be, please don’t take it personally, just let us know!

The Golf Day
This was our major fundraiser of the year and the 26th December slot was a real win!
We raised R40 000.00 thanks to the generosity of sponsors, prize donors and players…huge thanks to you all and to Garry and Jenni and the team who put it all together.
Accolades list here
Then we owe more ‘huge thanks’ to The CSF Resort for taking over the FOSTER Fun Run from us with an event that was great fun for everybody who took part. R17 000.00 was raised…we are very grateful to the organisers and the participants!
Of course, every cent of all these funds goes into the reserves in one way or another
…alien clearing, trail maintenance, firebreak clearing, signage etc.
This is depressing news…in spite of the downpour we had in March,
little has fallen in our catchment areas and the dam levels are critically low.
Our rainiest months, by average, are still ahead so we keep hoping!

DAM LEVELS on 9th April 2018:
There is lots of interesting info on this website about dam-level history, consumption etc. http://www.nelsonmandelabay.gov.za/dam.aspx
Our cameras continue to record wonderful wildlife activity…
you have to pinch yourself when you realise this is in our own backyard!
The encouraging thing is that we are seeing new juvenile Bushbuck regularly…we watch video
evidence of them growing up and new young ones appearing.
The videos can’t be posted here but you can see them our facebook page or our website
Local raptors…thanks to Gregg Darling for photos
